About Laurel Leaf
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion—
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of joy
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord
for the display of his splendor.
- ISAIAH 61:1-3

The idea of the name of Laurel Leaf Wellness started with the Laurus Nobilis, or more commonly known as the bay leaf. The essential oil of the laurel leaf has been shown to help with the digestive, immune, and respiratory systems, as well as calming the mind and grounding the spirit.
In folklore, the Ancient Greek and Romans would wear crowns made of laurel leaves to show those who were victorious in battle or those who were scholars. The crown from the leaves of the laurel has been associated with victory, nobility, and intelligence throughout history. It was also believed by the Greeks and Romans that the laurel tree had great powers of divination and prophecy.
I am a believer of the one true God, our Creator and Heavenly Father. In my prayers for wisdom in my own health and career path in wellness, I asked the Lord for guidance and to lead me to a sign. One day, as I was on a prayer walk, I happened to be led to a tree just next to a grand magnolia that caught my eye. As I looked down, there was a sign labeling it as a laurel tree. Knowing the significance of this, I believe that God led me down that path to that tree for a reason. I have faith that my true calling is to help those who are lost in their own health struggles and to show that we are all meant for a health-full life.
I have had my own challenges and victories in not just my health, but also my spiritual walk as well. "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him." - James 1:12. Without my faith, I do not believe I would be where I am today. And in regards to Laurel Leaf Wellness, my hope is that I can be an encouragement to you along your wellness journey. But also to place a crown of victory over you -- a victory over the battles that you will overcome with your health -- physically, mentally, and spiritually.
